40 years ago this week, "Private Dancer" by entered the at 9. It peaked at 7 on 23 Mar 1985. This might be my favourite of her songs, contrasting the wistful lyrics and the funky melody. I just learned it was originally written and recorded by , but never released. They gave it to Tina Turner, and most of them participated in the new recording.
