Eric 🇨🇦<p>Wrote and recorded this tune a couple of years ago. It’s about a fictional ghost band mate with me down in the basement. Eric 🇨🇦<p>Down in the basement tonight. Just finished tracking all the main vocals on the new song. Started comping first verse vocals. Nothing like singing a speedy fast 160bpm rockabilly protest song to get the adrenaline going. Fortunately it’s baritone-bass, so more of a Johnny Cash kinda vibe. But fast. Used the Bigsby on the Gretsch a bit, so that was fun. Surprised at how well it held tune with some moderate dives on the Bigsby. <a href="https://c.im/tags/music" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>music</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/recording" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>recording</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/guitar" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>guitar</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/singing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>singing</span></a></p>

Eric 🇨🇦<p>In the basement working on song structure. My revelation of the evening is that 160bpm rockabilly songs, even with three 8-line verses and three 4-line choruses and an extended final chorus AND a solo just before the final verse/chorus - still makes for a very short song! Probably around two minutes. Got the lyrics finished tonight too. I’ll figure the song’s ending out tomorrow. Then track some vocals. <a href="https://c.im/tags/music" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>music</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/guitar" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>guitar</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/songwriting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>songwriting</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/recording" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>recording</span></a></p>
