Alex@rtnVFRmedia Suffolk UK<p>More <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/laptop" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>laptop</span></a> surgery tonight - lower buttons below <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/trackpad" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>trackpad</span></a> on <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/Thinkpad" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Thinkpad</span></a> <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/P50" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>P50</span></a> were goosed (left button stuck on, causing all sorts of strangeness, which even upset trackpoint and top buttons) - replaced with another set </p><p>A bear of a job as keyboard has to come out, as well as part of bezel around it (I was able to carry out the repair without removing whole thing), dozens of small screws, multiple small connectors must be disconnected and then there is just 4mm of ribbon cable to get into exactly the right spot (again had to use big LED desklamp and wear +1,00 spectacles to see as my contacts correct me for long distant vision, with age I have presbyopia )</p><p>At least the surgery was successful, as I'm typing this toot on the laptop with a working trackpad *and* trackpoint.. </p><p><a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/repair" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>repair</span></a></p>
