Less about its role in our political crisis: the fight against fascism.</p><p>The sun cannot be hoarded or centralized. So technology that harnesses its power tends to be highly antifascist. It’s why petro-fascists like Trump and Putin recognize solar energy as a threat to their hold on power. It’s why we see solar energy growing the fastest in the long-exploited developing economies of the global South.</p>

I’m kind of tempted to not even hook up to the grid and just get batteries. Is that a terrible idea? </p><p>Anyone have any other tips?
