demi7en 🎗🇪🇺<p>World's democracies condemned the crackdown in Hong Kong, but did nothing to impose costs on the CCP dictatorship. Instead business (read: Chinese exports) only grew and grew. Andrew Stroehlein<p>You don’t hear much about <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Tibet" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Tibet</span></a> in international news these days. In large part, this is by design – that is, by design of the ruling Chinese Communist Party. It’s a consequence of China’s increasing efforts to seal off information from the region, through intense surveillance &amp; censorship. It’s the part of China’s repression in Tibet that keeps the outside world from seeing all the other parts of China’s repression in Tibet.</p><p>📰 Read: <a href="https://www.hrw.org/the-day-in-human-rights/2025/03/10?story=paragraph-10371" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">hrw.org/the-day-in-human-right</span><span class="invisible">s/2025/03/10?story=paragraph-10371</span></a> </p><p>🔊 Listen: <a href="https://www.hrw.org/video-photos/audio/2025/03/10/tibet-today-daily-brief-march-10-2025" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">hrw.org/video-photos/audio/202</span><span class="invisible">5/03/10/tibet-today-daily-brief-march-10-2025</span></a></p>
