The Luxon government has announced it'll chuck another $13.5m into tourism. They seem determined to stick with a quantity over quality approach and intend to target "China, Australia, the United States, India, Germany and South Korea."

Meanwhile, our tourism capital Queenstown is discharging effluent into the Shotover River and can't cope with the existing demand for wastewater.

But sure... bring in more tourists.

Top tip for tourists as of this weekend kicking off #tourism season here in #Wales: speed signs are indicators, not challenges. Just because you're on an A-road doesn't mean you'll actually achieve those 50 mph like it says on that sign. Especially not when the road snakes around the side of several mountains for the stretch of some 50 miles. That sign does not give you your top speed, but the speed at which you're guaranteed to crash and die.
