The managing body of Victoria's six alpine resorts says it is reviewing winter operations at its Mount Stirling resort, which has been "operating at a financial deficit" for some time.

Snowtime's showtime as resorts bet big on a bright, white future

Despite two poor seasons, climate-change worries and growing competition from Japan and New Zealand, Australian alpine businesses are making substantial investments that signal a firm belief in the future of our winter wonderlands.
Hiked up to a snow/glacier patch below Anvil Rock on Mt Rainier. Basically right side of the Muir route out of Paradise, still a lot of people but less. We topped out at 8500 content with 1500 vertical run down. Took a closer look at Little Tahoma and where the Cowlitz & Paradise glacier meet.
After doing my first time in Riksgränsen (too awesome to care about how crazy it was), I contemplate my next move in what might be the perfect sport for me: skiing.
