I like your "armed queers" picture and want to show you some of my work

First one is showing a Sten submachine gun, a typical weapon for anti-fascist partisans all over Europe (especially for French resistance) during WWII and became iconic since it was primitive and ugly but got the job done

Second one is a reference to Hellboy

56. Hellboy en el infierno (Mike Mignola, Mick McMahon, Fábio Moon, Gabriel Bá, Dave Stewart, Richard Corben, Duncan Fegredo, Gary Gianni). Sensación agridulce. Por una parte es una despedida de Mignola de su personaje poniéndose otra vez en modo autor completo en el arco principal del tomo. Pero por otra es un pequeño bajón comparado con el cierre por todo lo alto que había sido el anterior tomo. No es que sea malo, es que las comparaciones son odiosas. Del resto de historias destaca una vez más Corben con sus historias de Hellboy en México y un Fegredo que también decide despedirse del personaje con un dibujo absolutamente espectacular.

El tomo Hellboy en el infierno apoyado sobre una mesa de madera y cristal. Dentro del cristal hay multitud de dados de rol. El tomo está forrado en un símil de terciopelo. La ilustración es un dibujo en blanco y negro de un ser cadavérico con las cuencas de los ojos vacías y unas alas demoníacas à la espalda. La portada acredita únicamente a Mike Mignola como autor.

boxd.itA ★★½ review of Hellboy: The Crooked Man (2024)It’s been rough going for Big Red since Guillermo Del Toro stepped away from him. The Hellboy franchise took a sharp downward turn with the ill-conceived 2020 reboot by Neil Marshall. With Hellboy: The Croooked Man, Millennium is trying again and the results are improved though, it’s still not exactly a winner. To its credit, I love the low-fi, folk horror vibes this film is giving. I enjoy the hell out of the GDT Hellboys, but those are slick superhero movies with a supernatural bent with a tone akin to the first Suicide Squad (albeit much better scripts and direction).
