This piece is an articulate and perfect response to the hyperbole and the rhetoric surrounding the death of Charlie Kirk.

It’s okay to not mourn the death of a Nazi trash human. It’s okay to feel good that he’s no longer here. That doesn’t make us bad people.

If you’re struggling trying to explain this, let Elizabeth Spiers help you.

The NT’s wilful ignorance over Black deaths in custody

Please tell me if Link doesn’t work and you’d like to read the whole article…

“Evidence about Rolfe’s lies, violence, theft and psychological state had been excluded from the trial case. It emerged later that he had failed to declare disciplinary action and violent behaviour when applying to join the NT police and was banned from applying to Queensland Police for 10 years due to an integrity breach after failing to disclose being fined for public nuisance and violent behaviour. He admitted to lying on a police application form, omitting the fact he had previously used marijuana and MDMA and, according to impugned evidence, had pleaded guilty to theft at a military trial following an internal military investigation.…

“Like all unrepentant men, he made it about himself: “I’ve dealt with the sadness of taking Kumanjayi Walker’s life … I refuse to wallow. If I need to laugh rather than cry, I will laugh.”..

“Finocchiaro’s response to the coronial inquest was a signal to the police to continue their racism and, well, just keep having fun. The justice system in the territory serves the powerful and, as Andrew Boe says, processes the poor. This raises the question: is this a justice system as most people understand it or is it a business model?”…

Continued thread

This short #documentary highlights how the mechanism of #discrimination prevents foreign-trained #doctors from practicing in #Canada – even after they've received their #Canadian qualifications. Every year, scores of these doctors are turned down for the residencies they need in order to practice – and many of those residencies stay vacant. Through interviews with #medical professionals and #HumanRights advocates it becomes clear that #SystemicRacism is to blame. Strikingly, several doctors interviewed for this film would not speak on camera, fearing repercussions from the medical establishment. What is the real problem: the incompetence of foreign-trained doctors or the #injustice of the system?

🤔 Imagine this: You're subjected to increased racist attacks while in prison and once released, there's even more chance of being returned than if you are white.

"Even though I’m free, I ain’t free’ "

"Studies show that Black men who have experienced incarceration have higher rates of PTSD, depression and psychological distress compared with Black men who have never been incarcerated."

Nearly Two Years After Being Indicted on #Racketeering Charges in #Georgia, the First of 61 #StopCopCity Defendants is Set to Start Trial Today

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: July 7, 2025 via #WeelauneeTheFree

Repeated Evidentiary Violations, Dismissals of Charges, and More Than 200 Unresolved Motions Have Plagued the State’s Efforts to #Criminalize a Political Movement

ATLANTA, GA – "Nearly two years after being indicted on State racketeering charges in Georgia, the first of 61 Stop #CopCity defendants charged with #RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations) will go to trial today, Monday, July 7 at 9 am in Fulton County Superior Court. A press conference will also be held today after the trial adjourns.

"#AylaKing filed for a speedy trial in October 2023, but their case has been held up on appeal while higher courts considered whether Georgia’s speedy trial statute had been violated and whether King’s rights had been denied. Multiple pretrial motions and the possibility of additional motions being filed this morning could delay the start of the trial, but according to Fulton County Judge Kevin Farmer, jury selection will begin today.

What: First of 61 Stop Cop City RICO trials for Ayla King and press conference
When: Monday, July 7, 2025: Trial at 9am; Press conference at 4pm or when trial adjourns
Where: Fulton County Superior Court, 185 Central Ave SW, Courtroom 4D

" 'Despite facing two decades in prison—nearly as long as they’ve been alive—Ayla King has bravely pushed for a speedy trial, and will now, after two years, finally see their day in court,' said local community member Evan Grace. Supporters of King argue that the charges are politically motivated. 'We know these charges are meant to bully us into silence, but the movement to Stop Cop City has always taken the courageous path, the one in righteous opposition to the #racist, #classist, violent system of #police and #prisons,' continued Grace. 'King, all the Stop Cop City defendants, and everyone coming out to show support during this trial will prove that the scare tactics they throw at us will never stop us from fighting back.' "

The sentencing of Cassius Turvey’s killers shows courts still struggle to deal with racism

"The brutal homicide of 15-year-old Noongar Yamatji boy, Cassius Turvey, by a group of white men revealed the racial schisms in Western Australian society. Turvey was walking home from school in October 2022 when he was abruptly beaten to death."

Spoke to the Confronting Anti-Black Racism Advisory Committee at the City of Toronto, whereupon I discovered that the City NEVER EVEN CONSULTED its own, very obviously relevant Committee on the development of the protest bubbles bylaw.

Mind, they ignored the overwhelming wishes of the people they DID consult, so it wouldn't have much mattered, I suspect.

The City HAS however decided that they will be useful in cramming it down Black people's throats.

This is how systemic racism works.
